Weekend Getaway

Jon was out of town all of last week working at another hospital. We missed him, so we decided to drive down and spend the weekend together. We went up Friday night, ate dinner out, and then spent the evening in the hotel pool. Jon and I enjoyed some wine, pool-side, in paper Dixie cups….classy right?!

Sydney is really starting to enjoy the water. She was splashing, and playing, and all weekend when we would walk by the pool, she would point, and squeal, and want to go in. The only thing that freaked her out a little was when Jon would disappear under the water and then magically reappear in another spot. She didn't really know what to make of it...she would just look SO confused!

Kisses!

Once our wine ran out and the pool started to fill with slash-happy little boys, we headed back to our room, rinsed off in the shower, and played for a little while longer. Sydney was such a trooper, she stayed up until 11pm and wasn’t the least bit grumpy!

We all slept in the next morning, and then enjoyed some coffee and a leisurely hotel breakfast. The hotel had quite the breakfast spread; fruit, hot cereals, cold cereals, yogurt, bagels, pastries, waffles, eggs, sausage, French toast, omelets, juices, milk, coffee, etc., you get the idea...YUM! After breakfast we tried to find a walking trail on the lake, but just got lost, so we went to the park instead.

Sydney loved the swings! Every time we tried to get her down she would get mad, so we just kept swinging!

When we were finally able to pry her away from the swings, we headed over to the Children’s museum. It was great! Sydney was a little bit young for some of the things, but there was still plenty for her to enjoy! We pretty much just let her wander around and explore, while I followed behind her like a mad woman with a camera. **Note to self- next time just set  your camera to auto, if you arent going to remember to check the meter readings. Just sayin.**

Jon was wearing a hat at the museum and whenever ANY  guy wearing a hat would walk buy, regardless of age, race, or stature, Sydney would point and yell “Papa!”. I think people were starting to give me the side-eye! LOL!

Watching the squirrels outside.

These buttons played heart and lung sounds. She pushed them over, and over, and over!

Saturday afternoon consisted of a delicious carb-heavy lunch at La Gondola Spaghetti House, shopping (We got Sydney a new swimming suit. Did you notice she was crammed into last season’s 6-12month suit in the earlier pictures?), and a family nap. We headed down to the pool again that evening and then went out for dinner. It was a late night once again, but Sydney is proving to be quite the party animal!

Well, that's about it from our mini family vacation!

Happy Monday!
